Handcrafted Birch Bark Creel - Large

The creative use of natural materials by Native Americans taught western trappers and pioneers to use birchbark for fishing creels, and containers. Bark was peeled, split, boiled and sewn. This wonderful old style creel was handcrafted in the same way with leather hinges and accents, and wooden toggle. Great Display piece.
